About Cheryl and Phil
Owners Cheryl and Phil are passionate about cats and embrace the "slow movement" principle to create unhurried interaction time for their feline guests. Each cat comes out daily to stroll around and use the scratching posts and toys, with individual staff supervision.

Cheryl looked after my cat Buttons for nearly 6 months while my house was renovated. I was so impressed with how well she was cared for. Cheryl took time to brush her as well - love those wee extra thoughtful touches. Such a lovely quiet place set back off the road. Great for those flying as so close to the airport. My cat is a very sensitive soul in every meaning of the word!! He needs quite a lot so I was nervous about putting him in a cattery... Cheryl very quickly put my mind at ease through her great personality and her love of cats. When it came time to pick Ninja up I was amazed! My cat who rarely likes anyone but my husband and I was smitten with Cheryl! I am a cattery convert!
Our fur babies had a 3 night stay at 4 Paws Cat Motel this weekend and despite a very nervous Mummy (first time we have left them) they settled in quickly and had a wonderful time! We got daily updates including photos. Cheryl and Phil are such friendly caring people who are obviously passionate about what they do. The rooms are clean and comfortable and a good size; very reasonably priced.
Fantastic place. Our Chance has stayed multiple times - all his needs are looked after. Beautiful setting and spacious housing gives peace of mind.
FAQs
What vaccinations are required?
Cats must be vaccinated against feline enteritis, rhinotracheitis and calicivirus. The certificate must be current for the entire boarding period, updated at least 10 days before arrival. Please bring your vaccination booklet.
What food do you provide?
Cats are fed twice daily with premium dry food (Blackhawk chicken) and wet food (supermarket pouched, chicken flavoured). You can bring your own food for special diets or fussy eaters.
Do cats from different families mix?
No, we do not allow cats from different families to be communal. Access to exercise and play areas is individual, supervised by staff.
Can you administer medication?
Yes, we can administer most forms of medication orally or at feeding times at no extra charge. Injections like insulin that require consistent dosing times may incur a charge.
Do you offer pick-up and delivery?
Yes, we can arrange pickup and delivery from urban areas in Christchurch to fit around opening times. Prices vary based on distance.
What are the out of hours charges?
Weekday 10am-4pm: $20. Saturday after 10am or Sunday before 4pm: $36. No drop-off/pick-up after 6pm or before 6:30am.
What payment methods do you accept?
EFTPOS, internet bank transfers, and Visa/Mastercard. Full payment is required on departure.
