What is the difference between The Hotel and The Backpackers?
The Hotel offers spacious heated indoor rooms with access to a large sunny playroom where cats enjoy individual time throughout the day. The Backpackers has single floor-to-ceiling units with shared play areas - not heated but fully enclosed with warm bedding and heat pads available, suited for summer or outdoor cats.
What are your opening hours?
Sunday to Friday: 9am-11am and 4pm-6pm. Saturday: 9am-11am only. Boxing Day: 9am-11am. We are closed Christmas Day. Available by appointment outside regular hours.
Do you administer medication?
Yes, we administer medication free of charge including insulin injections, thyroid tablets, antibiotics, and other medications as needed.
Do you offer airport pickup and drop-off?
Yes, we offer an airport shuttle service to/from Christchurch Airport for $50. Local pickup and drop-off is also available - call for a quote.
How are charges calculated?
Charges run from the day of arrival to the day of departure. If you check out before 11am, there is no charge for that day.
What food do you provide?
We provide Black Hawk cat biscuits and wet food options. You may bring your own food if your cat has special dietary requirements.
Do you provide photo updates?
Yes, we provide photo updates via Facebook so you can see how your cat is enjoying their stay.
Is the cattery heated?
The Hotel accommodation is heated and temperature-controlled year-round. The Backpackers isn't heated but is fully enclosed with warm bedding and heat pads available for cats who need extra warmth.
