Valhalla Kennels and Cattery is a country pet retreat on a 22-acre property in the peaceful Uruti Valley, less than 5 minutes off State Highway 3. Established in 2003 and now run by Katrina and Marius (since 2019), cats enjoy multi-level scratch posts, warm sleeping quarters, and raised cubbies. Cats socialise together in the fully enclosed cattery during the day and are brushed before dinner.

Recently taken our cat for a visit at Valhalla, I am very impressed with what the owner is doing there. You can see how well he is not only taking care of the grounds but the furry babies also.
This was the first time our dog Rocco had been to stay in kennels and he was going for 3 weeks. We were extremely happy with how his stay went and the care Katrina and Marius took of him. The facilities are lovely and the owners are great animal lovers.

How much does cat boarding cost?
All cats $14 per day or part day. Food is included. No tom cats accepted.
What are your opening hours?
8am-11am and 3:30pm-6pm daily. Closed Wednesdays for drop-offs and pick-ups. Also closed Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
What vaccinations are required?
Current FVRCP vaccination required. Certificates must be presented at arrival or previously verified as up to date.
What flea and worm treatment is required?
Cats must be wormed with a broad spectrum wormer and treated for fleas ONE WEEK prior to arrival. Infested animals will be treated at owner's expense.
What are the cattery facilities like?
Cats have individual warm sleeping quarters with raised cubbies. During the day, cats are together in the fully enclosed cattery with multi-level scratch posts. All cats are rounded up in the afternoon for a brush down before dinner.
Can I bring my own food?
Yes, you can supply your own food if your cat requires a specific diet.
Do you accept tom cats?
No, we do not accept tom cats (unneutered male cats).
What is your cancellation policy?
4 days notice required for any change or cancellation, or full charges apply. For Christmas/New Year bookings, notice must be given by December 10th.
Can I arrange drop-off outside normal hours?
Yes, outside hours arrangements can be made with prior notice. A $50 additional fee applies.
Do you send updates?
Yes, photos of pets during their stay are typically posted on our Facebook page so owners can monitor their animals' activities.
