How do I make a booking?
Bookings are available through the website contact tab, email (lisa@thecatswhiskers.co.nz), or phone (07 578 8525). Please include a contact phone number and leave a message if needed.
What are your opening hours?
We are open daily from 8:30am-9:30am and 4pm-5:30pm. We are closed on Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
What do you feed during my cat's stay?
We feed Royal Canin to ensure your pet receives the best possible nutrition. You may provide your own food - refrigeration and systems are available to maintain specific feeding regimens.
Do I need to bring my cat's bed?
Bringing a familiar bed or blanket is recommended but optional. We provide bedding, blankets, igloos, and toys.
Can I view the cattery before booking?
Yes, viewings are encouraged between 9:30am-10am or 3:30pm-4pm to ensure staff attention.
Can I visit my cat during their stay?
Long-term guests may be visited by arrangement after allowing at least one week for adjustment. Contact 07 578 8525 to schedule visits.
What are your boarding rates?
One cat is $22.50/night, two cats sharing is $16.25/night each, three cats sharing is $13.50/night each. Public holidays have an $11/cat/day surcharge.
What vaccinations are required?
Cats must be fully up to date with their annual vaccinations. A vaccination certificate must be presented upon arrival.
What about flea and worm treatment?
Cats need to be treated for fleas and worms at least 2 days before boarding. We reserve the right to administer treatment at the owner's expense if this requirement isn't met.
