Cancellation
Days charged as booked including arrival and departure. In the event of cancellation or change of dates, we reserve the right to charge for time booked but not taken. Christmas deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable unless agreed prior to booking.
Requirements
All cats must be fully vaccinated within the last two years. Certificate from vet or vaccination record book required on arrival. Cats must be treated for and free from fleas and worms.

Our two kittens seemed content and healthy at the end of their stay with Selwyn Cattery. Micaela was very patient and answered all my questions over the phone and when we dropped off the kitties, and she seems to really love all the cats! The cattery was clean, calm, and quiet.
Very polite service and very clean cattery. Highly recommend.

How much does cat boarding cost?
Single cat $22/day. Two cats sharing $30/day. Three cats sharing $36/day. Minimum charge $35 per booking. 10% discount for stays over 30 days (not in peak season).
What are your opening hours?
Monday-Friday 8am-10am and 4pm-6pm. Saturday 8am-10am and 4pm-6pm. Sunday 4pm-6pm only.
Can I visit the cattery before booking?
Yes of course. We welcome you to come have a look during our opening hours only.
I live in Ashburton, can I book my cat at your cattery?
Yes! We welcome all cats. We predominantly serve the Selwyn District and Christchurch, but we have cats from as far away as Ashburton too.
My cat is very anxious, how can you make sure it won't be frightened by other cats?
Selwyn Cattery is purpose built to ensure the safety and comfort of your cat. Each cat has an individual room with its own exclusive exercise area.
Can my cat eat its own food?
We ensure that their home diet is followed and any special needs catered for.
Can you administer medication?
Yes, we are fully able to administer medication for your cat.
I have two cats and I want them to sleep together for company, can you allow for this?
Yes! Cats from the same family are accommodated together unless otherwise arranged.
What happens if my cat gets sick while at Selwyn Cattery?
We will contact you (or your emergency contact) before we take your cat to the Vet. If fleas/worms are found, they will be treated by the cattery staff and you will be charged for this.
What vaccinations are required?
All cats must be fully vaccinated within the last two years. A certificate from your vet or the pet vaccination record book verifying this is required on arrival.
What's your Christmas/peak season policy?
Peak season (Dec 20 - Jan 10) has a 10-day minimum stay. $100 deposit due by 31 October (non-refundable). Additional $5 per cat per day charged Dec 22 - Jan 5. Reception closed Dec 25-26 and Jan 1-2. No long-term discount in peak season.
What payment methods do you accept?
EFTPOS, Credit Card, Cash, or Internet Banking to J & C Lovell 02-1268-0170275-00 (put cat's name as reference).

Do you hire out crates?
Yes, 48" XXXL wire crates available for $3/day (7-day minimum). $100 refundable deposit required.
What happens if I don't collect my cat on time?
We reserve the right to make suitable arrangements for any cat left in our care if contact is not made by 14 days after the agreed collection date. This will not release you from liability for any unpaid fees.
